Elon Musk Stands Firm Against Mandatory Vaccination
Elon Musk, the influential CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, has made a bold statement, asserting that he would prefer incarceration over terminating employees who decline the COVID-19 vaccine.
In a recent post on X, Musk expressed his discontent with the stringent requirements that individuals must be vaccinated and receive multiple boosters to partake in various activities. He stated, "Until the Supreme Court invalidated Biden’s exec order, SpaceX and many other companies would have been forced to fire anyone who refused to get vaccinated! We would not have done so. I would rather go to prison than fire good people who didn't want to be jabbed."
Musk shared his personal experience with the virus, revealing that he contracted COVID-19 prior to the availability of vaccines. He also voiced concerns about the side effects he experienced after receiving his third vaccine dose, which he claimed nearly resulted in hospitalization. He pondered, "How many other people out there have symptoms that are actually from the vaccine or Covid treatment, rather than Covid itself?"
Earlier this year, Musk disclosed that he had received a Johnson & Johnson vaccine shot followed by two mRNA shots. He described the adverse effects of his second booster, saying, "Felt like I was dying for several days. Hopefully, no permanent damage, but I dunno."
Despite his reservations, Musk clarified that he is not anti-vaccine. He believes in the potential of vaccines and recognizes the promise of synthetic mRNA in treating various diseases. However, he emphasized the importance of open discourse on vaccine efficacy and cautioned against potential treatments that might be more harmful than the ailment they aim to combat. In his words, "It's not like I don't believe in vaccines – I do. However, the cure cannot be potentially worse than the disease. And public debate over efficacy should not be shut down. There is also great potential for curing many diseases using synthetic mRNA, so let's not throw the baby out with the bath water."
